EXERCISE ON CONDITIONALS

Turn the sentences on this page into conditionals.

Example:

*** I walked to school, because the car broke down. ***

If the car HADN'T BROKEN DOWN, I WOULDN'T HAVE WALKED to school

(It has a TYPE III CONDITIONAL, because it HAPPENDED IN THE PAST.)

*** It is too late, so I can't catch the train ***

If it WASN'T so late, I COULD CATCH the train

(It has a TYPE II CONDITIONAL because the speaker sees that the situation is IMPOSSIBLE, he thinks it is not possible for him to catch the train)
